National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA)  is to provide single scheme aptitude examination to assist the candidates those who are seeking admission to architecture course all over India. More than 500 students are coming to Calicut centre every year for sharpening their skill set for NATA examination. Vismayam provide numerous imperative training sessions to make them fit for appearing these aptitude tests. It extends the right direction and support to the students for preparing subjects like mathematics, general aptitude and drawing.

Mathematics for NATA

The examination is structured as OMR based 30 questions for 60 marks. following topics are included in the syllabus from mathematics.

General aptitude is also an OMR based test. 30 questions are structured for 60 marks. Objectives of this part are

  • To identify the application and features of material’s surfaces associated to architecture and construction field. To analyse the compositions used in a picture.
  • To visualize the 3D (three-dimensional) form from its 2D (two-dimensional) drawing.
  • To understand the plan, elevation and end views of 3D objects.
  • To Mental ability (numerical, visual and verbal) Analytical reasoning and
  • To identify the national/ international personalities related to the field of architecture and their contributions.

Last 90 minutes of the exam is planned for 80 marks of 2 set questions. Candidate should have enough knowledge in the following areas to attend this drawing test.

  • Objects with its proportionality and scale
  • Space planning, 2d and 3d composition using given objects.
  • Elements of design, building forms, shape, and elements.
  • Aesthetics, colour psychology, texture, contrast and harmony.
  • Conceptualization and Visualisation.
  • Drawing of patterns – both geometrical and abstract.
  • Relationships between 2d and 3D for dealing out the solids for subtraction, union, surfaces and volumes, rotation, etc.
  • Preparing orthographic views of an object (plan, elevation, end views  and 3D visualisation of objects)
  • Sketching of landscape and urbanscape.
  • Perspective drawing
